To mark International Womenβs Rights Day 2026, WE CAURI organized a training session dedicated to womenβs leadership and community engagement on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in Abomey._
The event brought together more than 25 women leaders, heads of associations, and activists involved in local development. Through this initiative, WE CAURI reaffirms its commitment to building womenβs capacity to promote more active and inclusive participation in community governance.
Facilitated by Bruno Semalon, a specialist in leadership and community development, the training addressed several key topics, including the pillars of womenβs leadership, servant leadership, and issues related to civic engagement and social cohesion.
The participants discussed practical case studies focusing on resilience, crisis management, ethics, and transparency in the implementation of community initiatives. Particular attention was also given to distinguishing between civic engagement and political engagement, in order to preserve the unity and social mission of the organizations.
At the end of the meeting, the participants developed a plan to share what they had learned from the training within their various associations and communities.Β
This approach aims to amplify the initiativeβs impact and encourage more women to get involved in local development efforts.
