The news in detail
Titled “CAURI CONNECT: Designing and Implementing a Program to Foster Career Paths in the Global South,” this paper draws on the experience of WE CAURI in Abomey, Benin. It falls under the theme “Local Knowledge, Collaboration, and Co-creation.”
Reflections from the Field
How can a local organization apply international evaluation standards while preserving the knowledge, priorities, and decision-making capacity of stakeholders in its community?
This question lies at the heart of the presentation. Drawing on CAURI CONNECT, WE CAURI will share initial insights from an ongoing action research project focused on supporting young people in shaping their career paths.
The goal is to discuss the program’s design, management, and evaluation choices, while examining the role of locally generated knowledge in development projects. This presentation outlines a process still in development—including its lessons learned and open questions—rather than a finished model.
The presentation will be given by Carole Kinha.
A Space for Dialogue Between Research and Practice
Jointly organized by the Quebec Observatory for Research on Collaboration (OQRC) and the Canadian Observatory on Crises and Humanitarian Action (OCCH), the event will bring together perspectives on local knowledge, governance, power dynamics, and practices of collaboration with the Global South. WE CAURI thanks the organizing teams for providing this space for meeting and exchange.
